I welcome you to website of Chhattisgarh Ftr BSF (Spl Ops).
It is indeed a great honour and privilege to assume Command of Chhattisgarh Ftr BSF (Spl Ops) which is profoundly committed to combat the menace of Naxalism in the state.
Chhattisgarh, a gift of nature and known for its scenic beauty and serenity, has fallen prey to nefarious naxalism which is driving astray innocent youth of the area with misinformation and luring with promise of unrealistic dreams. Hence, one of our objectives, while combating naxalism, is to wean away such misguided youth from such misgivings and guide them into mainstream to make their lives better. Naxalism is losing its ground and is on wane with aggressive operations by Security Forces that includes BSF which is playing a leading role in Kanker district.
Inhospitable terrain that constitutes dense Jungles interspersed with swift flowing rivers and streams and hilly features poses a big challenge for our men in fighting hidden and hit-and–run naxals. Yet undeterred, we have developed over years of practice and training, required physical and mental endurance to over come such impediments in operations. Patience and persistence are our “Mantras” in continuing our campaign against Red terrorism.
Humid weather and prolonged monsoon are other hindrances we ought to surmount, yet we are relentless upholding our motto “Jeevan Paryant Karthavay”. Our chief objective against all odds is to generate sense of security among locals and stand guard to developmental activities that the Govt plans to bring in. BSF has achieved this objective to great extent by being in fore front.
We are not alone in this fight; we are taking local population too along with us. We conduct various Civic Action programmes that benefit many locals in remote areas. Also conducting vocational training to help local youth develop self- confidence and self-reliance. Our aim is to see our presence makes difference in the lives of people. We are thankful to all who stand by us and inspire us to move ahead strongly towards our goal of Naxal free state. In the course of pursuing our aim, many a soldier has sacrificed on the altar of duty. And I am sure that their sacrifices will not go waste.
Nothing deters us from pursuing our goal; we are steadfast and un-relent in our efforts. I appeal all to be our side and further cheer us to render more devoted and dedicated services to the Nation and its people.
